About This Service

Unvented Cylinder Installations

An unvented hot water cylinder provides mains-pressure hot water to every tap and shower in your home, no pump required. JLP Plumbing installs unvented cylinders by qualified engineers across Hertfordshire.

Unvented systems are increasingly popular because they deliver strong, consistent hot water pressure even to multiple outlets simultaneously. They also eliminate the need for a cold water storage tank in the loft.

All unvented cylinder installations must be carried out by a qualified engineer registered with an appropriate competent persons scheme. JLP's engineers hold the necessary qualifications, G3 unvented hot water storage.

FAQs

Common Questions

Yes. Quotes for unvented cylinder installations are free and there's no obligation. We look at what you need, explain the options and agree everything with you in writing before any work begins.

How quickly can you start?
It depends on the size of the job, but we pride ourselves on fast response times. Call us on 01462 510001 and we'll let you know our earliest availability, emergencies are prioritised.
What is an unvented cylinder and how does it work?
An unvented cylinder stores hot water fed straight from the mains, so there's no cold water tank in the loft and your hot water comes out at mains pressure, which makes for stronger showers. Because it's a sealed system, it has built in safety controls: an expansion vessel and relief valves that let water out safely through a discharge pipe if pressure or temperature rises too far. It has to be fitted by a qualified installer.
