Rated 5.0 on Google · Fully insured
Our team is based in Letchworth Garden City and clears blocked drains, sinks, toilets and outside gullies across Hertfordshire. This year that has meant blocked toilets and drains in homes across Letchworth, Baldock and the towns around them. We find what's causing the blockage, clear it and tell you how to stop it happening again.

Emergency drain unblocking
A drain backing up into the house, a toilet that rises every time it's flushed, or a manhole overflowing in the garden all need clearing quickly. Call us 7am to 9pm Monday to Friday or 7am to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday. We reply to enquiries within 2 hours and give you the earliest time we can be with you. A photo or short video on WhatsApp to 07719 056800 helps us bring the right kit.
While you wait
Stop using water. No flushing, showers, washing machine or dishwasher, because everything you send down has to go somewhere.
Leave the chemical cleaners alone. On a drain that's fully blocked they just sit in the pipe, can splash back when it's opened up, and can damage older pipes.
Keep people and pets away from any overflowing gully or manhole, and wash your hands well if you've touched dirty water.
How we clear a blocked drain
We match the method to the blockage. A build up close to a sink, a toilet or a gully can often be cleared by hand. Grease, silt or a blockage further down the line needs high pressure jetting, which scours the inside of the pipe clean instead of just punching a hole through. If a drain keeps blocking, a camera survey shows what's inside: a crack, a sunken joint or roots coming through. That way any repair goes in exactly the right place.

Signs your drain is blocking
- Sinks, baths or showers draining slower than they used to
- Gurgling from plugholes or the toilet when water runs elsewhere
- A bad smell from drains or outside gullies
- Water rising in the toilet pan when it's flushed
- Water or sewage pooling around an outside gully or manhole
Catching it at the slow stage is easier than waiting for it to stop altogether. Most blockages build up over weeks from fat, food, wipes, hair and soap. Wipes cause problems even when the packet says flushable.
Who is responsible for a blocked drain?
In England, a drain inside your property boundary that serves only your home is your responsibility. A drain that's shared with neighbours, or the pipe that runs from your boundary to the public sewer, is normally the responsibility of the local sewerage company. In Hertfordshire that's Anglian Water or Thames Water, depending on where you live. A camera survey shows exactly where a blockage is, which tells you whose pipe it's in. If it turns out to be the sewerage company's, we'll tell you so you can report it to them.
